September 7, 2017 (Bridgeport, CT) –Fairfield County’s Bijou Theatre, under new management, is launching a new plan for expanded entertainment choices and a unique party and meeting space.

“Bijou means ‘a delicate jewel.’ Since its transformative renovation seven years ago, this beautiful space has been Fairfield County’s best kept secret, but not anymore,” said Gary Peterson, new executive director of the Bijou Theatre. “We have plans that will attract audiences from Fairfield and New Haven counties and beyond who love live performance and unique films.” A Connecticut native, Peterson had been looking for a classic small venue where the arts can thrive and entertainment flows in a comfortable, intimate atmosphere. With a career in television production and audio-visual services, Peterson’s senses are fine-tuned to present top-quality performances, satisfying entertainment experiences, and corporate packages that include everything required for an effective and memorable presentation or event.

With 200 movie-style and cabaret seats, full bar, the large screen, stage, and updated state-of-the-art audio/visual capabilities, the Bijou Theatre is now booking corporate holiday events and private parties. To view the current public event schedule, visit
